Android ringtone installation differs between device vendors: save a supported audio file, then choose it in sound settings. iPhone workflows may require GarageBand or a computer and an AAC ringtone. This site exports WAV and MP3; renaming either to M4R does not convert it. Keep the original recording.
Photos export as static stickers. Use an animated GIF or video for motion; changing the mode alone does not animate a photo. Static and animated stickers use WebP but have different budgets: 512 × 512 pixels, up to 100 KB static or 500 KB animated. Animation is limited to 10 seconds. Transparent edges help avoid a rectangular backdrop. A browser download produces a sticker file, not an installed pack: use a compatible pack-building app and follow WhatsApp's pack requirements.
WhatsApp sticker specificationEvery additional frame adds information. Start by reducing dimensions, then frame rate and palette colors. Removing a pause or trimming the clip often saves more than minor palette changes. Compression is source dependent; a target size can be impossible without visible changes. Compare both animation timing and transparent edges after export.
Copying an existing compatible AAC or MP3 stream avoids a second lossy encode. It does not improve the source quality, and segment boundaries can align to codec packets. Gain, fades, filtering and sample-rate changes require decoding and encoding. Choose WAV when you need an uncompressed editing intermediate, or MP3 for a smaller sharing file. A silent video has no soundtrack to recover.
GIF is widely used for short silent animations but has a limited palette and often large files. WebP supports transparency and static or animated content; compatibility depends on the destination. MP4 is a video container, can contain audio, and is generally more efficient for long scenes. A container name alone does not guarantee a browser can decode its codecs.
Emoji and stickers are separate upload targets. This editor uses a 128px emoji canvas and 256 KB maximum, with PNG for static and GIF for animation. Stickers use 320 × 320 pixels with a 512 KB limit. Discord's sticker guide lists PNG, APNG and GIF; actual upload acceptance and animation availability depend on permissions and platform behavior. These exports still require manual upload, and server acceptance remains a release test.
